I ordered a Miracle Fruit tree earlier this week and it has arrived!! While it is still small, I am so excited it made it.
Miracle Fruit trees are actually bushes that will grow to about 15 feet tall in their native Africa. My little guy is at almost 5 inches, so he has a way to go. This will have to be my baby plant, because it can't tolerate cold weather, needs to remain potted, and loves acid soil (although it could probably be at home in my pine heads).
Miracle Fruit is supposed to be some pretty interesting stuff. After eating a Miracle Fruit, anything tart you eat (for 15 minutes to an hour,
depending on the source) tastes sweet! I can't wait to try them!I purchased my tree from Top Tropicals out of Ft. Myers. They came highly recommended by fellow blogger Danielle at Danielle's Gardening Blog. Hers have done well- check out her recent post here!
